The low-cost airline has announced plans to station two further aircraft from its fleet at the airport in the Scottish capital.
The two additional planes will complement Easyjet?s existing Edinburgh fleet of five, which fly to 24 locations across Europe. The destinations serviced by the two new planes will be confirmed in October.
Easyjet's commercial manager for Scotland, Hugh Aitken, told BBC Radio Scotland, ?We are doing something quite unique, we're starting to talk to a lot of our partners, Scottish Enterprise and VisitScotland and others about where they see the opportunities, where they see the markets that are under served or have potential to grow in and out of Scotland and how they can support us with that.? Mr Aitken also said that the Scottish city had solid ?inbound potential.?
The jobs available will likely range from ground crew to cabin crew, pilots and aviation maintenance technicians.
There could also be a jobs boost for Glasgow in the near future, as the budget airline confirmed that capacity had been increased at the airport over the last few years, alongside new routes being introduced.
